Strangeliy, in Norwegian we never say that a bird i 'standing', it is 'sitting' on the pole.

Might be something for www.flickr.com/groups/transgression/ ?

Interesting - I haven't ever thought about that before - I think in English both "sitting" and "standing" could be correct....
