If anyone's interested, here's the "untouched" version of the pic. When I first posted it, it was darkened as above, but it was only cropped to the edge of the ponytail. I like Allyeska's cropping suggestion better!
hmmm i was having probs with flickr last night - didnt irt save my comment? well here it is again lol - awww aint love grand. so sweet with the nose hug, and the light rays as if coming from the heart. as if the only thing seperating them is the air between them! very powerful shot!

I think I lack confidence when it comes to cropping my photos - I generally like something about each part of the shot (e.g. I kinda liked the way the light caught on the ponytail), but it's not till someone else comes along and points out the "noise" that I really see how much better it could be if I just chopped it!
hey sobriquet - yyea its like when i writ an essay and i need to reduce the word count. i think its all important and should all be in there. and i cant figure out what to drop. sometimes u need someone objective to come along to chop chop chop! lol.
i really do think this photo is perfect now! really is powerful. i know i made cheesy comments but its striking. well done!
